That is what the i-ROP ASSIST app helps clinicians do. It is expertly designed for users to compare side by side pictures of infants at risk for ROP to an official set of standard reference images that show the disease at nine different grades of severity. Clinicians are able to upload high-resolution images of the eye fundus and easily ascertain the respective severity of the image (or patient) as compared to the set of reference images. The goal of i-ROP ASSIST is to reduce the subjectivity of a plus disease diagnosis and increase a doctor’s ability to accurately diagnose it. Furthermore, the i-ROP ASSIST app even shows expert classifications along with each reference image to immediately provide documentation on the respective diagnosis.
