Custom Drupal Module: Cred

We have developed a custom Drupal module for a client that I'm really excited about. We are in the process of contributing it to the Drupal community and I wanted to get the word out.

The module is called Cred, and it allows users to create nodes that are then graded by other users. These grades are compiled into a user's Cred Point Average (or CPA), which is displayed on their profile page. We used Jyte as our inspiration for this module. Our goal was to create a fun way for users to create content, spur discussion, and generate reputation all at the same time.

We have this module running on our Drupal staging site, and you can see an example of this content here. Please don't mind the Zen theme or the very basic presentation of the node. We developed the module with the most basic theme implementation because everything was overridden by the custom theme we made for the client. We are in the process of smoothing out some of the rough edges.

The module is not quite ready for prime time, though it is functional. It uses jQuery to make the voting widget smooth and includes integration with Views. In addition to cleaning up the theme functions, I hope to get around to building in User Points support.
